A Quiet Journey

There are so many things I have tried to do in life. I have accomplished little goals in life that I haven’t shared with anyone just because I like to keep those accomplishments to myself. I am not one to post and share to the whole world everything that I’m doing every minute of my life, although it does get tempting to do so, I hold back.

The biggest journey I have been vocal about has been my weight loss journey which is still going on but it has been up and down for the past few months. I haven’t given up but I also haven’t pushed myself like I have in the past, so I started to take on this journey on a more quiet pace.

I put 2020 in the backburner already and now I am just pondering what I have done these past two months of this year and I can be completely honest and tell you that I am not satisfied. There are so many things I have let slide and have stopped committing myself to but I’m glad I’m catching this now. I’m starting a quiet journey, I’m getting back up and moving slowly.

This quiet journey I am now taking is personal, it is a journey that will challenge me mentally, physically and spiritually. There are many things that God has placed in my heart to do and I am keeping God as my priority. My quiet journey will require a lot of time in prayer to make sure I stay on track. Once I am ready, you will know what this quiet journey was about.

Don’t be discouraged if these past two months have been a drag for you as well, don’t get upset if the goals and resolutions you set up for yourself haven’t gone the way you intended, instead keep going and if you must, do so quietly. Focus on what God has for your life without being vocal to everyone in your life, do this for you and for God. You got this.

Frustration

We all face it at one point or another. It can be over the smallest thing and if we’re not careful, we end up letting that little frustration control the rest of the day.

Have you ever gotten frustrated when you’re writing super neatly on a paper but all of a sudden you either smudge the paper or one letter in a word comes out crooked so it throws off everything? Yeah, that frustration makes you grab the paper, crumble it and start over again and now you’re frustrated because you can’t believe you’re fussing over something so small.

Now think about life, I’m sure you’ve had plenty of moments of frustration that you can’t even count them in your hands. Guess what? I don’t have a solution for you but all I have is a suggestion; BREATHE! Your attitude about any situation you are encountering right now is going to determine how you deal with these type of situations. If you continue to stay focused on how crappy things continue to go, your sight will be clouded and it will make it that much more difficult to overcome that situation.

Ultimately, I will always encourage you to go to God and pray. Pray for peace, for understanding, for clarity and just watch God move. Don’t believe me? Try it. Still don’t believe, well then, BREATHE. As you breathe, your mind clears up and you can focus once again. But when you pray and go to God, not only will you have that clarity that breathing can provide, but you learn to lean on God rather than yourself. As you lean on God and His strength you can learn to deal with similar situations better. Stay focused, keep going, and don’t let the frustrations control the outcome of your day.

Blessings!

Your Personal Journey

Every single day that we are blessed to wake up, we begin a journey. Whatever that journey may be, however we begin our day can literally motivate us or bring us down to act like sadness from the movie Inside Out. That is definite the last place we want to be. I honestly just want to encourage you in your journey, keep going. If you’re going to school and you have that last stretch to finish, get it done, you got it. If you’re trying to get to the work week, get to work and do your best possible and if you’re tired of working where you are, then maybe it’s time to start exploring what other available positions are out there. Put that resume out, network and get your butt moving forward, don’t be stagnant at a job that you hate. If you’re on a weight-loss journey (for some of you a weight-gain journey), don’t get upset when you mess up on one meal. It’s going to happen! Just put in a bit of extra work and bounce back from that hiccup.

Your personal journey matters, YOU matter! I honestly want to know what journey you are on, however silly or serious it may be. Let me know your journey, I might have some tips or I might be completely clueless but I still want to know what you are doing. The contact button is right there and it’ll come directly to my personal email, let’s encourage each other and see the places God will take us.
