Irrelevant

It’s very common for us as a society to comment on current events, to share where we stand and if we agree with things people say or do publicly.

I didn’t see all of the Grammys simply because it’s not something I’m interested in but I did catch a few things and obviously now everyone is posting and sharing clips.

As I am now processing the amount of agreements and disagreements, the main thing that stood out for me is that the viewpoint of celebrities is really irrelevant. Why? Because they don’t live in the same world as we do.

Celebrities live a lifestyle many of us don’t understand. Some of us work full time or part time, some of us are unemployed, some of us are the caregivers for family members, some of us have no family, some of us struggle to make ends meet, some of us are financially stable.

When was the last time a celebrity you admire work the type of job you do? When was the last time a celebrity you admire struggle the way you have? When was the last time a celebrity was there to help you when you needed that help?

Chances are that percentage is extremely low. Celebrities can say what they want just as you and I can, I’m not saying they need to sit down and shut up, all I’m saying is that what they are living and experiencing is not the same as what you are.

This world is going to fade one day and your life will only be a memory to others at one point. Ask yourself this: what really matters in life? I’m not sure about you, but for me it’s all about Jesus, serving God, serving others, and living a life devoted to God.

Nobody Asked…

But I’m still gonna share my thoughts and I would love to hear yours too. People don’t come to me asking my opinion about what’s going on in society right now, I think most that know me, know pretty much where I stand in my faith and in politics. If you don’t, here it is: I am a Christian and I am a Conservative.

If you’re still reading, thank you. Now that you know, you pretty much have an idea where I stand politically with regards to what’s going on in society. But what I want to share is more on the spiritual side of things. I am more concerned about what is happening spiritually than what is happening politically. We can disagree on everything politically and that’s okay, but I would want you to know and understand that there’s a God that loves you and wants you to know Him deeply.

I have never seen so much anger, hatred, and disagreements at this level. Maybe it’s because of the access we have on social media and everything that we are able to see online, but it is my belief that people are being manipulated by demonic spirits due to the doors they have opened.

When we allow any demonic spirit, in this case let’s say for example anger, to consume us, it will be so easy for us to be offended by anything, it will be so easy for us to be angry at a loved one, it will be so easy for us to shut down anybody that has a different point of view. If you are a believer, I am going to challenge you to begin praying, rebuking and renouncing every demonic spirit of hatred first and foremost from your own life and then from those around you. Let’s make it a priority to start praying instead of arguing online. We were meant to fight spiritually. Make this year the year that you start praying like never before and watch how you change and how the people around you change.

A Journey After Silence

It has been a while since I’ve made time to jot something down and publish something here. I did not stop on purpose and many times I wanted to do something small but I didn’t put the effort to do so. As I reflect now on what this year has been, and even what 2024 was as well, there was a lot of healing that had to take place in my heart.

I realized that this unintentional break was what I needed in order for God to set into motion things that needed to happen in my life. I’m trying to be more intentional with what I do with my relationships with people, with the podcast I’m running, and everything else I do in my life.

I will keep this one short and simple. Here’s my takeaway from this journey thus far, take in every moment of silence and always give glory to God. We won’t understand why things occur the way they do, why we deal with situations in life, why things turn out differently than what we expect, but we can stand firm in knowing that God already knows and He has everything sorted out. In your journey of silence, if you’re in it right now or may go through it later, be attentive to what God is doing. You’ll see that silence is not always a bad thing.

Who Are You?!

Society can be very obsessed with titles in various aspects of life. Whether it’s in business, in government, in church, it seems like people will look at titles and automatically have preconceived notions that are sometimes wrong. Or if we flip it around, someone who gets a title begins to get prideful and automatically assumes that their title allows them to be better than others.

Here’s something interesting about titles though; a title doesn’t reflect the character and the heart of the individual. A title is simply that, a title, but the character and heart of an individual speaks volumes. The way someone carries themself, the way they respond to situations, and the way they behave and speak when they think nobody is looking is far more important than the title they were given.

In Acts 19:15 there is an evil spirit that questioned the authority of a few individuals who were trying to cast out evil spirits, they had titles but no authority. There are numerous things we can learn from this scripture, but what I want to share with you now is a reminder of the importance of putting your heart on check. As Christians we have to keep our hearts aligned with God, just because you were given a title doesn’t mean that you are better or more anointed, no, it’s just a title. You are simply a vessel, we are all vessels used by God for His will to be done on Earth. We don’t get the glory, God does.

Don’t obsess yourself with the title you may or may not have, obsess yourself with being in the presence of God by reading the Bible, praying, worshipping, and seeking him. Know and acknowledge that everything God does through you isn’t about you or your strength, it’s about God. And as easily as he can give you an anointing, he can easily take it away. Let’s continue to remain humble and let’s continue to live a life worthy of what God wants, not because you have a title but because God is who he is in your life.

Refreshed

Have you ever hoped for new and fresh beginnings? I’m pretty sure it’s normal for all of us to seek that at one point or another. We begin to get frustrated with our monotonous life and start to seek new hobbies, new direction, new jobs, sometimes even new friends.

As humans we desire fulfillment but when we get tired in life, fulfillment seems so far away. In my journey with God I’ve realized that when God refreshes me in one way shape or form, my hope increases greater than the last time.

One of the tattoos I have on my arm is that of an eagles wing, as a reminder of Isaiah 40:31, “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Even in moments when I feel like giving up and run away from responsibilities and my loved ones, I get reminded that God has given greater hope for my life than anyone or anything can ever give me.

We are 15 days into 2023 and I’m not sure how you’re feeling right now but I pray that as you stumbled upon this, that you get reminded that God is by your side, He has not forgotten you and wants you to be refreshed. The best way I always find that hope and refreshment is being in the moment with God through reading the Bible and being in prayer. Don’t give up so early in the year, don’t give up at all, look to God and see that He will send that refreshment you’ve been looking for. ‭
